More Than Two Decades of Civil Litigation Experience

Gregory S. Shields is an attorney with Mills Legal’s Pennsylvania office, bringing more than two decades of civil litigation and trial experience to the firm.

Greg has represented clients in complex civil matters throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with substantial experience in personal injury litigation. His career has given him experience evaluating cases, developing litigation strategy, negotiating claims, and preparing matters for trial.

Earlier in his career, Greg handled insurance-defense matters. That experience provides valuable insight into how insurance companies investigate claims, evaluate exposure, assess damages, and approach settlement and trial strategy.

Today, Greg uses that perspective on behalf of Mills Legal clients. He understands how insurers and opposing counsel evaluate cases and applies that knowledge to developing effective strategies for injured individuals and their families.

Greg’s prior insurance-defense experience gives him a perspective that can be particularly valuable in personal injury litigation.

Insurance companies evaluate claims through established processes involving liability, medical evidence, damages, credibility, litigation risk, and potential trial exposure. Having worked on the defense side, Greg understands many of the considerations that influence those decisions.

At Mills Legal, he uses that experience to help anticipate potential defenses, identify weaknesses before the opposition does, and build cases designed to withstand scrutiny from insurance carriers and defense counsel.
